Welcome to the law office of Timothy Mara. My law practice is concentrated in the following subject areas:

• Zoning and Local Government Law
• Environmental Advocacy
• Referenda and Redistricting

Since being admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 1978, I've worked primarily for groups of citizens concerned about the future of their communities, for local governments (municipalities and townships), and for environmental groups. In representing my clients, I draw upon the following experiences:

• I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning with a degree in Planning (1972)
• I am a graduate of Northern Kentucky University's Salmon P. Chase College of Law (1978)
• As a professional Planner, I worked for five years for the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (1972 - 1977) where I played a major role in the creation of regional plans for water supply, water quality, open space, and housing
• I worked for two years (1977 - 1979) for the United States House of Representatives where I was local government liaison for Congressman Thomas A. Luken
• From 1979 to current I have been in the private practice of law, representing citizens in zoning and local government disputes, advocating for the environment, and in redistricting matters
• I also served a four year term as an elected Trustee of Green Township in Hamilton County, Ohio, one of the most populous townships in Ohio with more than 60,000 residents, and have been active leader in political and civic organizations
• I am also a frequent speaker to professional organizations on such subjects as land use law, easements, and the environment

Combining my knowledge of the law, planning, and political savvy, I am effective in advancing the interests of my clients.
